Random Acts of Kindness

Can you imagine being inside a hospital on Mother's day with your sick child? A child so ill they have been admitted and are in a hospital bed? The picnic, BBQ or event the car ride with screaming siblings would be better than being in the hospital. Along with friends we wanted to put smiles on some mothers faces this year. We coordinated with a hospital administrator and made something amazing happen!

When you work on a project, it is fascinating who steps forwards to support and who does not. This week, the most surprising donor for this great Mother's Day project our Arbonne team is doing for UPMC Children's Hospital is someone I DO NOT KNOW! She is the cousin of someone I BARELY know. This angel has gifted not one, not two, but THREE times. And that does not mean she gave $60. No, $60 was ONE donation! $40 was another. And $50 was a third! And a forth $20.

Yes. A random stranger donated $210 dollars to help us get closer to our goal of 315 (the number of beds at Children's Hospital)  for these children in hospital beds something to give to their Mother's for sticking by their sides! The mystery donor is a mother to an autistic child who often needs extra medical care. She is sister who has lost both of her brothers. She is a woman with a heart so huge I struggle to find the words to expressed my gratitude.

There is a back story to how our lives crossed. It is based on a facebook sharing I enjoyed going to a new infrared sauna spa. A neighbor saw this post and reached out to say, "I have a suana left by the previous owner. We are about to renovate the bathroom. If you figure out how to get it out of our master bath, you can have it for free!" So my boyfriend and I went, and got the sauna out of their bathroom. While there, the husband said, "We want to put a wine cooler here in this spot with audio equipment bolted in. If you can remove it, it would appreciate it!", so we did that too. Two years passed, and the equipment was gathering dust in my garage. I posted on FB  "free to good home" ad for the audio equipment. The first person who reached out was hungry for it then ghosted me. The second person was super excited and was at my home in minutes!

This random stranger is the cousin of the woman who got the audio equipment!

Our project will not include ways to contact us. Our team of consultants will not be delivering these further than the hospital lobby. There is no marketing for future sales.

Just a good deed gifting project which we are orchestrating!

We made our goal of 315 gift bags for the hospital to hand out!

  1. She’s an angel with lots of scars but it hasn’t altered her heart of gold 💛 We need people like her in this world! Thank you sweet cousin for helping out my friend!!
